News Limited deploy Tapit in World First
By Andrew on Oct 14th 2013 03:11 AM
We're extremely excited to announce that News Limited has deployed Tapit enabled interaction points within a select number of public transport vehicles in Sydney.
This signifies another huge step forward for Tapit as a company and continues our vision of enabling rich content experiences for organisations and their consumers using Tapit.
In partnership with News Limited (a division of News Corporation), Mnet Australia, UM Australia and Transit Systems, Tapit has deployed a world first experience for Sydney commuters on public transport vehicles using Near Field Communications to easily access news, sport, entertainment and lifestyle related content on their smartphone.
For the next twelve weeks, News Limited advertisements placed on the rear of seats in more than 80 Western Sydney buses which are Tapit enabled will invite commuters to experience news+ at TheTelegraph.com.au that when tapped using an NFC enabled smartphone, serve content from TheTelegraph.com.au.
(Consumers with a non-NFC enabled smartphone can receive content by scanning the QR code on the advertisement which is also powered by the Tapit platform).
News Limited has also used advanced content delivery features of the Tapit platform by tailoring unique content experiences to commuters based on the time of day and frequency of interaction.
For example, in the morning the latest breaking news will be delivered while recipe ideas will appear in the late afternoon as people usually search for dinner inspiration.
Tapit see huge value for organisations deploying these types of projects both domestically and internationally. Harnessing the Tapit platform not only allows faster, more effortless content experiences to be delivered to consumers using their smartphone but also provides a new layer of accountability & understanding from an organisations paid or owned physcial media assets.
